The birth and engraftment of a blood stem cell | Boston Children's Hospital

When a patient receives a bone marrow transplant, the transplanted blood stem cells find their home, begin dividing and establish themselves in the body much like natural blood stem cells do. This zebrafish animation illustrates findings from the Stem Cell Research Program at Boston Children's Hospital that reveal this natural process for the first time, providing clues that will help scientists improve bone marrow transplants. He is a central character in the Indian epic Ramayana and its various versions. He also finds mentions in several other texts, including Mahabharata, the various Puranas and some Jain texts. A vanara (monkey-like humanoid), Hanuman participated in Rama's war against the demon king Ravana. Several texts also present him as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He is the son of Vayu, who according to several stories, played a role in his birth.
