2011 Outstanding Cancer Research Fellow – Dr Alexander Swarbrick
Dr Alexander Swarbrick and his team at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research have discovered that some cancers actually make a tumour suppressing gene inactive by producing an inhibitor, thereby allowing mutant cells to multiply, spread and form cancers. His research is looking closely at these inhibitors known as microRNA. They believe understanding its behaviour can be a powerful tool for predicting patient prognosis and may even be a new target for therapy of some cancers.

Terminal Cancer Treatment – GENDICINE GENE THERAPY : Biological Physics – Electro-Medicine
Epistemology - By: (Me) Nicholas Ellis @ http://www.Youtube.com/sn1pe352 Published in the July issue of the Journal of the American Chemical Society, researchers injected mice with ovarian cancer cells that had been dyed and soaked in a protein that would bind them only to cancer and not to regular cells. After gently massaging a mouse to disperse the cells, researchers placed a magnet on the mouse's belly for 30 seconds.

Greatest Genetics Discoveries 1/3
1. Rules of Heredity (1850s) Austrian monk and botanist Gregor Mendel discovers how genetic information is passed down through generations. In experiments performed on pea plants, he notices that characteristics of a plant's offspring, such as height, exhibit recessive and dominant behavior
