In the summer of 2011, the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (NESCent) co-sponsored a one week, Continuing Medical Education workshop on evolutionary biology for medical practitioners and clinicians. The workshop was held at the Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine.
