Spinal Cord Injury with Residual Paraperesis Treatment and Rehabilitation in Mumbai, India Patients has history of RTA in October 1997, leading to fracture # D5-6 and burst fracture D12 vertebra cervical cord injuries(?disclocation). He had developed paraplegia with complete loss of bowel bladder function. He was operated for spinal stabilization of the dorsal vertebral fracture cervical injury was managed conservatively with cervical traction. Over a period of time, he recovered gradually and is now able to walk with a scissoring gait.He recovered completely in his sensation bowel bladder. Neurologically , he is hypertonic hyperreflexic. On examination : he has complete sensory recovery of deep superficial sensation . He has near normal upper extremity strength poor voluntary control of bilateral hip ankle muscles. He walks with scissoring Gait severe adductor spasticity. Functionally, he is independent in most ADL mobility. On FIM he scores 109. After Stem Cell Therapy 1) Intrinsic muscles of foot have improved. Now is able to grip chappals. Before he was not able to do it. 2) He now walks independently with help of a stick. 3) Ankle movements have improved. 4) Posture is more erect . 5) Walks stairs independently with support of railing. 6) FIM -- has increased from 109 to 112. 7) Spasticity reduced in lower limbs. 8) Walking is more easier.
